THE 2ND ANNUAL RYDER’S “CARVE OUT CANCER”
5K & FESTIVAL: Will be held Saturday, October 8th at Dodgen Middle School. Registration and race number/T-shirt pick-up begins at 7am. Race begins at 8am, and the festival immediately follows the run. All race participants will receive a colorful 100% cotton “Carve Out Cancer” T-shirt and race bag filled with coupons. The post-race festival includes refreshments, inflatables, DJ, cake walk, pumpkin painting, face painting, and lots of fun! The proceeds will benefit the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research. For every dollar Rally receives, 93 cents goes to support its mission. Ryder is a 5th grader at Mt Bethel Elementary who was diagnosed at 18 months with a brain tumor. Ryder has battled through her cancer, receiving chemotherapy and even surgery to remove the upper portion of her left lung due to the aftermath of the chemotherapy. To register for Ryder’s 2nd Annual Race, please visit: http://www.active.com/donate/Ryder5K. If you prefer not to race, but would like to receive a T-shirt, please register as a phantom runner. The effects of Ryder’s cancer prevent her from doing things that other children take for granted such as running, so please join Ryder as she continues to “Carve Out Cancer” and be the voice and footsteps for those that follow. Questions, please contact Cassie Rogers at cassie.n.rogers@lmco.com . Mark your calendars and support the following Ryder 5K Dining Sponsors: Monday, October 3 is “Ryder 5K Night” at Churchill’s Pub on Johnson Ferry Road. Any time, all day. Eat there or take something home. Churchill’s will donate 20% to the race to help with the research. Thursday, October 6 from 3-7pm is “Ryder 5K Night” at Smoothie King on Johnson Ferry Road.
