After-School Clubs - assist with educational after-school programs such as chess club, drama, Spanish, art, and science.

Birthday Book Club – coordinate book donation celebrations the last Monday of each month from 7:30-8:15am

Book Fair - assist Media Center personnel in managing the bi-annual book fair; organize the display and inventory and assist students with their selections.

Box Tops/Labels for Education – coordinate the collection of these items to raise money for Murdock

Calendar – assist with creation of the PTA calendar of events.

Community Outreach - organize events allowing students to help the community

Directory - create a directory of all students for school-wide distribution

Grounds Beautification/Environmental - plan events to beautify school grounds; share information on current environmental issues; encourage school and community involvement

Health, Safety & Nutrition/Red Ribbon - organize programs to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being International Night-organize this evening event that celebrates school diversity

Legislative – serve as a liaison between the school, community and local, state, and national government on issues affecting education

Literacy and Reading - promote student reading and writing through various programs and presentations

Marketing/Ad Sales- Help with the sale of ads to be placed in Murdock PTA publications.

Media Center - help shelve library materials; assist students with checking out materials

Media Lab - assist in ordering/stocking office supplies used in Media Lab; straighten Lab as needed

Meet N Greet – organize Meet N Greet in the fall

Membership - organize annual PTA membership drive

Murdock Weekly - create and distribute weekly newsletter

Reflections – collect entries for the national PTA “Reflection” competition in the fall

Room Parents - coordinate classroom volunteers and special activities; work as liaison between teacher and class parents

School Sign - announce school events on the sign (marquee) in front of the school building

School Store - sell school supplies to students; selected days, before the school day begins

Spring Fling- organize this annual evening carnival promoting community spirit

Spirit Wear - organize sale of school T-shirts and sweatshirts

Staff Appreciation - plan creative ways to say “Thank You” to faculty, staff, administration, and bus drivers

Sunshine Math - promote interest in mathematics through this supplemental math program

Volunteer Coordinator - communicate volunteer information to committee chairs, help recruit needed volunteers

Web Site - update and maintain information on the PTA web site/Blog

Yearbook - oversee creation and distribution of school yearbook
